Khaled Elabdi and Theresa Kruser, Lakeville residents and members of AISA (International Association Sufi Alawiyya), are excited and pleased to invite local interfaith groups, congregations, and informal communities to host a screening of the film All of Us on the occasion of the 5th Annual International Day of Living Together in Peace, which was unanimously adopted by the 193 member states at the General Assembly of the United Nations in 2017. This annual day is celebrated each year on May 16. Sheikh Khaled Bentounes, Honorary President of AISA International NGO, is the initiator of this resolution.
This year’s celebration will be aligned with the release of the documentary All of Us, by Pierre Pirard, which highlights individuals around the world who are working to bring peace in areas of conflict. The film is free and available online.
Groups may wish to celebrate International Day of Living Together in Peace by arranging a gathering, viewing the film, signing the Universal Declaration of Living Together in Peace: Declaration, and/or sharing ideas on projects to promote the ideal of unity. South Metro Interfaith Community will join the screening on May 14th at Antlers Park in Lakeville. Read more information about their involvement HERE.
