Depoliticizing a Pandemic: Religious Freedom and COVID-19

Alexander Dushku and Steven Collis will host a virtual session about religious freedom in the era of COVID-19. They will explain the legal framework judges must apply when confronting religious freedom challenges to government orders related to COVID-19, including balancing free exercise rights against government’s role in protecting public health; they will also explore government’s role in taking into account the nature of religion as a public good.
