Join KOOTASCA Community Action on Tuesday, September 12 at 11:00 am to learn about legislative updates that impact voting in Minnesota. There were a lot of changes to our elections and voting laws in the 2023 legislative session. The laws are intended to make access easier for voters but they only work if voters know about them. The Secretary of State is a constitutional office in the executive branch of state government. The work of the Secretary of State’s Office affects Minnesotans in all 87 counties of the state. One of the office’s main responsibilities is overseeing statewide elections and operating the statewide voter registration system. The SOS office works to ensure Minnesota’s election system is fair, open, impartial, and secure. This event is free and open to the public but pre-registration is required. Lunch is provided. Space is limited. Early registration is encouraged. Contact Amy Blomquist at 218-212-2810 or amyb@kootasca.org
