Hajra Zaid grew up in Minnesota for all of her childhood, but moved away in the early 2010s. She currently lives in Chicago, but spent nearly a decade in Lahore, Pakistan before settling back in the Midwest for graduate school. With a degree in Religion, Literature, and Visual Culture, Hajra is passionate about the intersection of religion and cultural production, and contemporary creative expressions of religiosity. Hajra has experience in K-12 teaching, copy editing and diversity and inclusion programming at academic institutions. 

Whether it's in a basketball game or in life, she works best in a team, with sounding boards and peers that she can learn from and also bring value to. Hajra was raised doing community work in the spirit of Islam. She has continued her advocacy through various creative projects.
