With an audience half full of college students, a diverse group of participants explored themes of religious difference and interfaith leadership. The workshop, funded by the Jay Phillips Center for Interreligious Studies aimed to enhance religious literacy and interfaith leadership among students. The event explored themes such as peace building, dialogue, trauma informed interfaith work, and storytelling, featuring sessions led by prominent speakers, such as Dr. Danielle Clausnitzer, Imam Sharif A. Mohamed, and Dr, Martha Stortz. Notable discussions included strategies for engaging young people. Additionally, student Interfaith Fellows at St. Thomas shared their experiences and campus engagement strategies. The workshop closed out with a performance by the St. Olaf Taiko Drummers.
Sponsored by various organizations including the Jay Phillips Center and the Lutheran Center for Faith, Values and Community, the workshop aims to rotate among different institutions to foster statewide engagement with religious diversity.
